Control-M Workload Change Manager Deployment Service


This Service installs and configures the Control-M Workload Change Manager (WCM) solution for an existing Control-M environment. It also includes knowledge transfer of BMC’s recommended Control-M WCM best practices.

What you get:

BMC will perform the following in one environment:

  • Gather Customer’s current Control-M implementation information in the following areas:
    • Installation and configuration of the change management process
    • Procedural pains and challenges with the current approach for:
      • Outline manual efforts performed currently
      • Quality gate rules for each Control-M environment
      • Workflow approval process
      • Requirements for improving the workload change management procedures for:
        • Naming standards for the Control-M environments
        • Automation of manual tasks
  • Conduct a whiteboard session to review and recommend how Control-M WCM can be used to optimize the following parameters:
    • Site standards
    • E-mail configuration settings
    • User settings
    • General Control-M WCM administration level settings
    • Control-M WCM advanced settings
    • Promotion rules between two environments (if applicable)
  • Install and configure the Control-M WCM add-on in an existing Control-M for Distributed Systems environment
  • Prepare Construction Document
  • Prepare the Change Management Assessment (CMA) Report with recommendations from the whiteboard session
  • Conduct hand-off and knowledge transfer session with Customer

Customer will be responsible for:

  • Providing access to their internal domain expert resources, such as schedulers, application development, automation beneficiaries, file transfer beneficiaries
  • Providing the necessary technical resources for the installation and configuration, such as infrastructure and network administrators

Deliverables: Using BMC’s standard methodology and templates, the following Deliverables are in scope for this project and will be delivered:

  • Construction Document
  • Change Management Assessment (CMA) Report

Completion Criteria: BMC will have completed these Consulting Services when the in-scope Consulting Services have been completed, and the Deliverables have been delivered to the Customer Project Manager.
