When Itaú first encountered the database errors, its existing method for root-cause analysis was a complex manual process dependent on specific utilities and technical interpretation of results.
The process prolonged diagnosis and recovery, and Itaú was unwilling to accept the risk of downtime that could impact banking service and customer satisfaction. The bank sought a fast, automated way to diagnose the issues.
Itaú created a much simpler, faster, and more transparent diagnostic process by implementing BMC AMI Log Master for Db2, part of the BMC AMI Data family of solutions.
In one case, where Itaú had been analyzing an error for two days using the previous process, it applied BMC AMI Log Master for Db2 and got an accurate diagnosis in a few hours.
Using BMC AMI Log Master for Db2, the Itaú team receives diagnostic information in standardized, structured, easy-to-interpret reports. They can also interact directly with Db2 logs, which they did not do before because of the high complexity of the logs data.
Based on the success of initial projects and the ease of generating diagnostic analyses, Itaú productized the analysis service, allowing users to tap into BMC AMI Log Master for Db2 when applicable, reducing technical dependencies and operational bottlenecks.
